Our story begins in 1893 when coffee, which has its origins in Ethiopia, made its way back to Africa. Kahawa, which means coffee in Swahili, is our brand name. We believe that our story is in your hands and invite you to be a part of it.

Kahawa 1893 is a specialty coffee company founded by Margaret Nyamumbo, a third-generation coffee farmer from Kenya. We source directly from farmers in Kenya, Rwanda, and Congo to ensure that the farmers behind our coffee earn sustainable wages.

Our variety pack includes our top-selling coffee, Safari Blend, which is a bright and balanced blend that is perfect on its own or with milk. We also offer the Serengeti and Kenyan blends, as well as an Ethiopian blend sourced from two distinct regions within the country.
